Course #6 – Planetary Combinations and Mathematical Yogas
Course Dates: August 11th – October 11th
Limited Class Size
Year 2 of the Astrological Apprenticeship Program concludes with a detailed exploration of Yogas. We have all heard about Yogas for:
And often astrologers make assessments about these Yogas that do not give their results. Or sometimes astrologers are surprised to see success in a person’s chart that do not have the obvious Yogas. This can be related to the philosophical and mathematical principles as shared in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, which we will be covering in this course. These principles reveal:
- Is there a block or obstacle to the yoga manifesting?
- Which is stronger, the Yoga manifester or the yoga breaker?
- Which planets produce Yogas for a given sign?
- Which planets block Yogas for a given sign?
- How strong are the good Yogas fundamentally?
- How strong are the difficult Yogas fundamentally?
In Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, there are helpful calculations to aid an astrologer in determining the potential of a Yoga. These revolve around the calculations of Ishta/Kashta, Subha/Asubha, Planetary Dignity and Shadbala. Through the last five courses of this Apprenticeship Program, we have been exploring and building upon these principles to enable us to intimately understand how the puzzle pieces of Yoga Assessment fit together.
Simply having a Yoga means very little. In the same way, someone can have a fancy, high-quality, expensive musical instrument and not know how to play it. Digging into the fundamental building blocks of a Yoga’s power allows the astrologer to recognize the degree of proficiency and expression the Yogas within a chart will bring to the native’s life.
This course will be a minimum of 18 hours in length and divided into a minimum of 7 classes. These are pre-recorded classes (which I will begin on an auspicious muhurta!) Class recordings will be delivered, via email, with a link to the video of the class at the beginning of each week. Classes will be available as a video for up to three weeks after the class’s conclusion. So take your time and be sure to take good notes! Student questions are to be emailed in between classes. Each question will be answered at the beginning of the next class.
Base Tuition: $210.00
(However, this is such a fascinating topic and I want to make it available to everyone, so if you can’t afford $210.00, just tell me what you can and that will be the cost for you. This does not apply to Apprenticeship Track Students, only general students. Apprenticeship Track Student fees are $210.00.)
Registration ends July 15th, 2017. Payments must be received by July 17th, 2017 to reserve your spot.
